Charles Sturm Charles Brooks Sturm Charles Brooks Sturm, age 85, of Morgantown, WV, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at his home. He was born January 18, 1929 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Lestor and Stella Carpenter Sturm. On April 16, 1947 he married Ercie Mae Smith who preceded him in death on December 13, 1993. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Gordon Sturm and one great grandson, Christopher M. Stauffer. He is survived by two daughters, Peggy Jo Sturm of Volga, WV and Tami Norfolk of Thurmont, MD; one son, Jeffrey Craig Sturm of Moundsville, WV; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mr. Sturm was a Federal Mine Inspector. He was member of the Queens Chapel United Methodist Church in Volga, Bigelow Lodge #52 A.F. & A.M. and the Philippi Chapter #41 Eastern Star. Charles was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Shrine Club. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Church Cemetery in Buckhannon. Bigelow Lodge #52 A.F. & A.M. will provide Masonic graveside rights. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
