Obituary of Harold Junior Shaffer

Harold Shaffer Harold "Hike" Junior Shaffer Harold "Hike" Junior Shaffer, age 79, of Volga, WV died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born November 13, 1934 in Barbour County, WV, a son of the late Creed and Bessie Lantz Shaffer. He is survived by his wife, Ava Shaver Shaffer who survives; two step daughters, Diana Shaffer and companion Robert Coleman of Volga, WV and Donna Shaffer Champ and husband Benjamin of Belington, WV; three step sons, Richard Shaffer and companion Cheryl and Dale and Timothy Shaffer all of Volga; four step granddaughters, Missy Sanders Linger of Fairmont, WV, Ashley Champ of Belington, Savannah Champ of Volga and Rebecca Shaffer of Morgantown; three sisters, Loretta Marsh of Belington and Louise Shaffer and Wilma Zelinsky both of Century, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward “Bub”, Ernest Shaffer and Albert Eugene Shaffer and one sister, Katherine Shaffer. Mr. Shaffer was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Mr. Shaffer will be cremated and there will be no services. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
