Obituary of Calvin A. Bailey

untitled3 Calvin A. Bailey Calvin A. Bailey, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his home. He was born July 21, 1927 in Upshur Co., WV, a son of the late Ernest Paul and Lena V. Reed Bailey. On November 10, 1949 he married Betty June Strader who preceded him in death on May 21, 2010. He is survived by one daughter, Connie Sue Gregory and husband Larry and one grandson, Shawn Hanifan and wife Risë all of Buckhannon. Mr. Bailey was a retired Postal Worker. He was a 50 plus year member of the Franklin Lodge #7 AF & AM, a 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite of Clarksburg, WV, a member of Osiris Temple of Wheeling, WV. He was a member and past President of the Upshur County Shrine Club, member of Buckhannon Chapter #18 Order Eastern Star and a member of the Mt. Hope Water Board. He enjoyed camping with the Masonic Camping Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WW II. Mr. Bailey will be sadly missed by his family and dog Cindy. Friends will be received Friday, July 27, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Shreve officiating. Burial will follow at the Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon. Franklin Lodge #7 AF & AM will conduct Masonic Graveside Rites. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505 in Memory of Calvin.
