untitled2 Herbert Dale Sharp Herbert Dale Sharp, age 80, of Volga, WV died Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. He was born November 24, 1930 in Mannington, WV a son of the late Walter Sharp and Catherine Booth Sharp Robinson. On July 7, 1953 he married Mary Jo Stevens who survives. Also surviving is one son, Robert Dale Sharp and wife Pat of Volga; one granddaughter, Lisa Marie Sharp of Stonewood, WV; two brothers, Edward Sharp of Grafton, WV and Burl Sharp of Morgantown, WV; three sisters, Rosaleen Jean Jones of New Cumberland, WV, Margie Swiger of PA and Geneive Deemer of New Cumberland and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Junior, James Pete and Robert Sharp and two sisters, Elizabeth Eddy and Mary Ruth Sharp. Mr. Sharp was a coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers Local # 4172. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 7-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Moll officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Philippi, WV.
