untitled2 Gary Lynn Skidmore Gary Lynn Skidmore, age 66, of Jane Lew, WV died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at his home. He was born June 30, 1944 in Sutton, WV a son of the late Aaron W. and Agatha Woods Skidmore. On February 17, 1975 he married Carol Arlene Daugherty who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Arden Lynn “Bucket” Skidmore and wife Wendy of Lost Creek, WV; two sisters, Joy Stutler and husband Jerry of NC and Treva Sirk and husband Randy of VA; four nieces, Kay Cantrell, Janet Dear, Ann Stutler and Danielle Morris; and two nephews, Aaron Sirk and Mark Kidd. Mr. Skidmore was a Christian by faith and a Funeral Director at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. He served in the U.S. Army as a medic in Vietnam and was active as a scoutmaster of Troop #72. He was a Charter member of the East Lewis County Lions Club and a member of the WV Funeral Directors Association. Friends will be received Friday, March 18, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dwayne Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Jane Lew where military honors will be conducted by the Lewis County Honor Guard.
