untitled1 Paul Herman Stewart Paul H. Stewart, formerly of Summersville, WV, passed away on August 30, 2010 at Victoria Manor Assisted Living in Buckhannon, WV. He was a retired coal mining trucker in Nicholas County for many years. He was born September 27, 1921 at Lost Creek, WV to the late Frank Herman and Frankie O’Dell Stewart. He married Roberta Tinney, who preceded him in death. Also predeceasing Paul were brothers, Robert Stanford, Val Clifford and Daniel Lee Stewart (in infancy). A 1940 graduate of Clear Fork High School in Raleigh County, Paul was a proud member of the football team. He served our country during World War II as a supply trucker in the 142nd Antiaircraft Battalion in England, France and Germany, (and also drove a truck on the Red Ball Express) following Basic Training in Fort Bliss, TX. Surviving are brothers John D. Stewart and wife Mary of Fairplain, WV, Douglas M. Stewart and wife Yvonne of Buckhannon and sister Vera Stewart Neal of Buckhannon. Several nieces and nephews also survive. There will be no funeral service. A private family interment is planned at a later date.
