I share my prayers and thoughts for Carole and the whole family. Dick Ralston was a tenor in the Chapel Hill UMC Choir. One Sunday Dick was the only tenor that came. As a choir director I was concerned. But Dick just sang his part a little louder and as beautifully as always and the anthem was saved. Dick loved to sing and share his talents with his choir family.
Carole and Dick are great friends of my husband, now deceased, and I. When we arrived in Buckhannon, it was Carole and Dick that took us in and introduced us to their family and friends. Our wedding anniversaries were only a few days apart so we would have may epic Anniversary dinners together through the years. Dick loved God, loved his family, and loved sharing his talents with others. You are greatly missed my friend but never forgotten! May you rest in peace.

To the family,
It was great being next door neighbors for many years. It was also great being in our church family together, especially in choir. You couldn't ask for better friends and neighbors than Dick and Carol. We'll miss Dick but we know that he is in a better place. Our love and sympathy to all of you. God bless.

Our deepest sympathy to the Ralston family. Martin enjoyed working for Dick and he was the only person that called Martin “Marty”. We always enjoyed seeing him.

My memories of Dick go way back many years! When we were I Jr. High School I thought he might be a nice boyfriend! I mentioned it to my mother, who was editor of the opposing local newspaper, The Republican Delta, who responded “Dick is such a nice young man so I think it would be okay, even if he is a Democrat!” Of course our friendship lasted many years past that, even being co-editors of the BU school newspaper! He was so kind, generous and an amazing leader! I will miss him! Mary Jo Herndon Hodge

Carole and family, Dick was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed. I will always remember his beautiful voice singing in Chapel Hill’s. Choir, his expert help the many times I stopped in Ralston Press, and his care and kindness not only to me but to my entire family. I was so pleased when my son Dusty asked him to be his mentor for confirmation at church and he agreed! He couldn’t have had a better example of a true Christian man. Love and prayers.

Carole I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dick’s passing. What an amazing man he was. I have so many memories of both you and him. We had wonderful times at the farm, and I remember Dick taking Zachary’s senior photos. Every time I saw you both out I enjoyed a kind greeting and wonderful stories. Please know that you and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. Much love to you.

The Ralstons were my neighbors through all my childhood , school years, and early married years. Colvin and I were close friends his whole life, and Dick and Carole gave me a wonderful keepsake of Colvin's when he died. That item will always be precious to me and forever cherished.
May God grant your family the love, grace, and comforting peace your family has bestowed on our community.

Carole and family - saddened to hear of Dick's passing. There is no doubt that we'll see him again in eternity. He was a super nice person when Joe or I worked with him on Chamber projects or printing jobs. Always the gentleman. Praying God wraps you up and holds you tightly as you adjust to his absence.

Ralstons were a fixture in this community for a long time. Carol and Dick seemed inseparable and exuded positivity and acceptance of others....the kind of people that enrich a family, friends, and a community. Our condolences to Carol and their family. We will miss seeing Dick and that wonderful smile.
