Denzil Lane Claypoole, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew, WV. He was born November 15, 1942, in Crawford, WV, a son of the late Noah Ray and Lona Gay Conrad Claypoole. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorena Ware and one sister, Betty Singleton. He is survived by one son, Denver Claypoole and wife Shelly of French Creek, WV; four grandchildren, Scott Tenney of French Creek, Carrie Tenney of Buckhannon, Curtis Tenney and wife Allison of Clarksburg, WV and Justine Ware of Clarksburg; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters, Dorothy Allen of Jane Lew and Mary Ann Booth and husband Junior of Jane Lew; one brother Melvin Claypoole and wife Beverly of Waterford, OH and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Claypoole enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to watch sports on TV- especially basketball and baseball. Denzil was an amazing dad, granddad, father-in-law and brother. His family was everything to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with the grandkids – who he lovingly referred to as the musketeers. In honoring Mr. Claypoole’s wishes, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
