To the man who raised me as his own, from day one. How blessed am I to say that I had a one of a kind dad! The one who had a grizzly bear growl with a marshmallow heart!! Life isn’t the same here without him and I miss him every day!! Wish we could have had more time together here on this side, I know someday we will be together again. Until then, rest easy Dad, know you were loved more than you know. Love you always - Boo

It’s said that from a young age you mimic or emulate the temperament, personality, sense of humor, and values displayed by those whom you truly love and revere most. That remains true with my Papaw, as much of whom I am today can be directly tied to my relationship with him.
I was the first grandbaby, and as Papaw’s “little buddy”, we spent much of my younger years attached at the hip, running wild all over the hills and making those core memories and molding me into the man I am today through his love, mentorship, and guidance. You simply cannot put into words the influence he had on my life.
The loss of one of my biggest heroes isn’t just felt solely by myself, but by many across our community, hometown, as well as Appalachia. Many here are better for having known my Papaw, as he certainly had a spark and tenacity that was not only rare, but truly unique.

This is truly a sad day.
Brad was family, friend and my 1st cousin.
We grew up together, played together and laughed together.
As a young man, Brad thought he was the meanest and toughest around, learning to curse a person up one side and down the other. Like the old saying, his bark is louder than the bite. With that kind of attitude he earned the nickname "Baby Huey".
Brad was always competitive in any kind of sport. He did not like losing. He made it a goal to get better. That competitive spirit can be seen and handed down in his family.
When Brad met Bonnie, he grew into a family man, with Bonnie's help. Together they took care of many young kids. It takes a special kind of individuals to do what they have done over the years.
Brad and his family will always hold a special place in our heart's ❤️. Sandi and I are truly saddened and heart broken. Condolences to his family and prayers. Brad will surely be missed. Love Mike & Sandi
