We shared crayons and laughter as children at Truby Run Elementary, our one-room school where we met and became friends. (Carol is second from left in the photo below.) We got back in touch in recent decades and tried to keep up with a tiny portion of the news about family members, old friends, and our aching joints. I will miss Carol. I am so happy we could share some time to say our good-byes. She told me that the hardest thing she has ever had to do was to say good-bye to everyone she loved so much.
