Obituary of Terry Eugene Saffle

Terry Eugene Saffle, age 74, of Audra Park, WV, died Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV. He was born June 6, 1950, in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Milton and Lucille Cool Saffle. On May 13, 1969, He married Luella Dean of Audra Park, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Cathy Hedrick and husband Bobby of Belington, WV; one son, Jesse Saffle and wife Kim of Audra Park; one grandson, Jed Saffle of Audra Park; one granddaughter, Kami Saffle of Audra Park; four sisters-in-law, Twila Moreland of Buckhannon, Lucille Wilfong of Mt. Nebo, WV, Darlene Dean of Kesling Mill, WV and Kenna Everson and husband Joe of Buckhannon; four brothers-in-law, Lawrence Dean and wife Sherry, Jesse Dean and wife Becky, Kenny Wright, and Carl Sothen all of Kesling Mill; several nieces and nephews and close friend, Butch Booth of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Saffle and Gary Saffle and wife Aggie; one son-in-law, Darrel Suder and two sisters-in-law, Carol Sothen and Glenda Wright. Mr. Saffle was a driller/blaster and part owner of Saffle’s Goodies. He graduated from Philip Barbour High School, where he served as president of the FFA. Terry was a Vietnam Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Starts and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device. Friends will be received Tuesday, October 1 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 PM at the funeral Home with Sherry Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Cemetery in Hall, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will perform military honors at the graveside.
