Obituary of Betty Jo Spencer

Betty Jo Spencer, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday September 27, 2024, at her home. She was born July 9, 1945, to Willis and Jocie Tenney who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her companion Howard Pletcher, a brother, Elmer Tenney, nephew, Michael Tenney, and brother-in-law Tommy Gillespie. She is survived by daughters, Robin Spencer and companion Thomas Moody, Carrie Tenney and husband Marshall; grandchildren, Ashton Ackerman, Emily Tenney and Brett Tenney. She is also survived by sisters, Shirley "Toots" Cutlip and husband Tommy and Brenda "Sue" Gillespie, sisters in law, Carolyn Tenney and Shirley Tenney, nephews TC Cutlip and wife Billie, Todd Cutlip and wife Lisa, Chad Spencer and wife Kelly, Brian Spencer and wife Elizabeth, nieces Kelly Tenney-Davis and companion Mike Rogers, Rhonda Hollen and husband Cody, Amy Spencer and husband Doug and Shawna Spencer, as well as many great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Spencer was a long time Kindergarten aide at Academy Elementary and worked as a personal care giver throughout the area. She dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren.  Mrs. Spencer will be interred at Rock Cave cemetery in Rock Cave, WV. There will be no services.
