Obituary of Margaret Lavaughn Orsburn
Margaret Lavaughn Zickefoose Orsburn age 84, of Buckhannon went home to be with her Lord on September 13, 2024, at St.Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born November 17,1939 in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Alpha Daniel and Elsie Grace Moats Zickefoose. She married the love of her life Junior James Orsburn in 1958 and shared 53 years with him. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers Calvin Zickefoose, Ted Zickefoose, George “Joe” Zickefoose, and Richard “Dickie” Zickefoose as well as four sisters, Lemoyne Zickefoose Page, Oleta Zickefoose Collins, Glenna Zickefoose Pringle, and Vivan Gayzelle “Shorty” Zickefoose Hammack. She is survived by brother Leon Zickefoose of Buckhannon and sister Mary Roberta Dean of Buckhannon, her two children, Timothy Mark Orsburn Sr and wife Debra of Buckhannon and Tamela Orsburn Martin and husband Patrick of Buckhannon, two grandchildren Timothy Mark Orsburn Jr of Buckhannon and Matasha Orsburn Weaver and husband Nicholas of French Creek, two step grandchildren Jennifer Snyder Boggs and husband David of Pennsylvania and Bryan Snyder and wife Amanda of Buckhannon, four step great grandchildren Emily Boggs Adkins and husband Britt of Buckhannon, Kayla Boggs Michael and husband Mackenzie of Buckhannon, Sara Boggs Cragle and husband Benjamin of French Creek, and Jesse Boggs and fiancé Hunter of Cabot PA, and four step great great grandchildren Brier, Lilly, Ellawen, and Steven, and several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Tibby. Margaret loved the Lord and enjoyed working in her church as a Sunday school teacher and decorating it for holidays. She worked as the activity's coordinator at Holbrook Nursing Home and at West Virginia Wesleyan College as a custodian, but her favorite job was being a mother and grandmother. She loved music and always had a song to sing. She was a wonderful cook and was always trying to feed everyone who came to her home. She enjoyed spending time with her special neighbors Mason and Elodie, who she loved like her own grandchildren. She was loved by anyone who knew her. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Sand Run Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the church with Pastor Greg Miller and Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
