Obituary of Roy Roger Carder
Roy Roger Carder, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born May 19, 1945, in Salem, WV, a son of the late James Denzel Carder and Catherine Vincent. On May 31, 1965, he married Patricia Ruth Utter who preceded him in death on September 19, 2018. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by nine siblings, Helen McIntyre, James Denzel Carder, Jr., Winnie Poole, Richard Carder, William Carder, Loretta Ruth Hedley, Charles Carder, Harold Carder, and Ella Carder Lowe. He is survived by two sons, Michael Carder and wife Emily of Greenville, KY and Shane Carder and wife Kelly of Java, NY; two daughters, Beth Anne Ptak and husband Eric of Tonawanda, NY and Anissa S. Frerichs and husband Charles of Chandler, AZ; companion, Bethel Pugh of Buckhannon; seven grandsons, Alexander Frerichs and wife Evelyn of Chandller, Michael Carder, Jr. and wife Jordan of Bowling Green, KY, Isaac Carder of Greenville, Matthew Brummer and wife Alyssa of New York City, NY, Travis Brummer and wife Michelle of Williamsville, NY, Zachary Carder of Java and Samuel Carder of Java; four granddaughters, Lindsey Stotts and husband Aaron of Laveen, AZ, Hilary Carder of Bowling Green, EmiKaye Carder of Greenville and Dallas Brummer of Tonawanda; two great-grandsons, Santiago Frerichs and Matias “Roy” Frerichs both of Chandler; two great-granddaughters, Ivy Carder of Bowling Green and Sunny Brummer of Williamsville; one sister, Mary June Jones of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carder worked for Fisher-Price as a machinist. He was an active member of the Full Gospel Independent Church and Bee Club. Roy was an avid sports fan and loved the New York Yankees. He was also an avid outdoorsman, raised beagles, and loved to take them hunting. In honoring Mr. Carders wishes, he will be cremated. Friends will be received for a memorial gathering August 3, 2024, from 1 PM to 2 PM at the Full Gospel Independent Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 PM with Pastor Chad Lewis officiating. A meal will follow at the church after the service.
