Johnny Andrew Morrison, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV, died on Friday, June 14, 2024, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born December 15, 1949, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Forman Andrew and Margaret Irene Brown Morrison. He is survived by one son, Mark Andrew Morrison; one brother, Forman Ray Morrison; five sisters, Sylvia Rowan, Karen Zorik and husband John, Joyce Carpenter and husband David, and Vera Bennett all of Buckhannon and Helen Curkendall of FL; several nieces and nephews, and his companion, Mary Jane Soliz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jason Leigh Morrison; two sisters, Betty Ann Barker and Margaret (Peg) Bennett, and two brothers, Buck and Garry Smarr. After graduating from Buckhannon-Upshur High School he entered the Army and served in Vietnam. Johnny was a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines for most of his career. He enjoyed playing music and was a skilled carpenter. Johnny will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In honoring his wishes, Johnny will be cremated and there will be no services.
