My prayers go out to Sallie and the family. Alvin was a wonderful friend who always took the time to call me after a Cantata or an anthem he particularly liked or when Bob or I were ill. He loved the Lord and Christ's Light shown through him every day of his life. That beautiful bass speaking voice welcomed everyone to Chapel Hill UMC. He will be missed by us all, but we know he is with the Lord. "Notes With Spiritual Tempos" - the title of my newsletter articles came from Alvin. So Alvin a tribute to you - I will remember your encouragement, joy, caring, love, and friendship and that deep beautiful bass voice! Thanks for the memories - thanks for being you and for making me and all you met better.
