Joyce Ann Thorpe

Joyce Ann Thorpe, age 83, of Tallmansville, WV, died Saturday, June 1, 2024, at her home. She was born April 20, 1941, in Natrona Heights,PA, a daughter of the late Bernard Elmer and Violet Esther Morford Lucas. On May 10, 1958, she married Raymond Thorpe who preceded her in death on June 12, 2023. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three grandsons, Curtis and Jacob Harsh and Joshua Thorpe; two brothers, Dave and Dale Lucas and one sister, Frances Hanby. Surviving are two sons, Chris Thorpe of Lake Alfred, FL and Greg Thorpe of Tallmansville; one daughter, Carrie Harsh of Tallmansville; one brother, Steve Lucas of Freeport, PA; one sister, Sharon Perine of Freeport and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thorpe was a loving wife and mother. She and Raymond cherished their 65 years of marriage. Mrs. Thorpe loved cooking, playing games and was very competitive, never letting her kids win. She was loved by many, and her children’s friends looked at her as a second mother. In honoring her wishes, Mrs. Thorpe will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
