Obituary of Rodney "Rod" Hoover

Rodney “Rod Hoover, age 62, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born December 29, 1961, in Buckhannon, a son of Robert “Bob” Hoover  of New Milton, WV and Charlotte Marsh Lewis of Buckhannon. On May 10, 1986, he married the love of his life Rebecca “Becky” Wentz who survives. In addition to his parents and wife he is survived by, two children, the joys of his life, Travis Hoover and wife Sheena of Buckhannon and Becca Lee and husband Brandon of French Creek, WV; four grandchildren, Mahala and Wesley Hoover both of Buckhannon and Ryley and Kyndal Lee both of French Creek; second mother, Dolores Hinterer-Hoover of New Milton; one sister, Phyllis Hinterer of Jane Lew, WV; two brothers, Phillip Hinterer and wife Sally Ann of New Milton and Craig Hinterer and wife Melissa of Horner, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hoover was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Buckhannon. He graduated from Lewis County High School in 1980. Rod worked at Jenkins Ford as one of the best autobody technicians in WV. His most recent endeavor was owner of Hoover Farm Equipment, where he met many new friends. Rod was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with family, friends, and his beloved Chocolate Lab Gunner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping – especially at Holly River. Friends will be received Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 4PM to 8PM at the Christian Fellowship Church. A funeral service will be held Friday, 11AM at the church with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
