My fondest memories with Uncle Delbert, Aunt Jane and Ronnie were in the winter time when he would sweep out the intertube track for us kids. We would drag those big truck intertubes up the hill and then bounce all the way down the hill. Great fun untill we were soaking wet and frozen solid. Delbert was a magician with a wood lathe. There wasn't anything he couldn't turn. The last of a dying breed. Those who can make things with thier hands. Craftsmen all Delbert and Kermit. Opal (my grandmother) never met a piece of fabric she couldn't turn into something beautiful, from a quilt to place mats.
