I remember Day Camp on Park Street.....the fun we had sleeping over there, Betty's sense of humor...exchanging a jar with a snake in it for an empty jar to be discovered by squeaks of fear and excitement in the morning....campfire foods and she taught me HOW TO FRY AN EGG without breaking the yolk. She was my mentor and friend. She gave us all direction and hope for the future. I have missed her and will always remember her gifts.

Family of Mrs Betty Weimer: My prayers are with you all. Heaven gained a VERY TALENTED ANGEL!
She was my FAV Girl Scout Leader as I grew up in Buckhannon & my Dad (Homer Holloway) taught Chemistry/Physics for years at WVWC. Spent many times at her home earning my Badges! Met up with her once again several years ago when I took care of my Aunt who eventually ended up at Serenity Care. Mrs Weimer remembered who I was & spoke to me each time I was there.
Keep those memories close to your hearts so they NEVER fade❤️

Betty told me as a biology major at a Liberal Arts school that when I graduated, I should be able to do whatever I wanted to do. Perfect advice at the perfect time…

I was outside today listening to all the wonderful bird songs and Mrs. Weimer came to mind. It wasn't until hours later that I saw her obituary posted on Facebook. She was an intelligent lady and a wonderful teacher. I never had her in the classroom, but she could take any opportunity to help us learn something new and exhibited that many times as a dedicated Scout leader. My thoughts and prayers are with Jane, Ann, and family left behind. A wonderful life well lived and now time to be reunited with those waiting for you.

Loving thoughts and condolences to the family, I will always remember and be thankful for the leadership and commitment to the Girl Scouts in our little town, growing up on Park street I could not wait until I was old enough to be a scout so I could go to Day Camp , Betty was such a strong and positive role model for us and I still remember the things I learned under watchful eye, many years ago, she was quite a lady respected by many .
