Louise Garrison Obituary

Louise Garrison, 81, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins, WV. She was born November 18, 1942, in Weston, WV. She was a daughter of the late James Willis and Opal Lottie Grogg Gum . In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Christopher. Louise is survived by Joseph Garrison, her husband of 64 years; her daughter, Debra Garrison Conover and husband Robert and her son Joseph (Joey) Garrison and wife Twiggy. Louise is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela Conover Mitchell (Adam Mitchell), Ryan Conover (Brittany Conover), Kortnie Conover and Michael Tapscott (Legend) and Hope Garrison. Her great-grandchildren include, Maddox Swisher, Taylor Swisher, Ziva Mitchell, Levi Mitchell, Kiralym Conover and Indie Garrison. Louise’s surviving siblings are James (Buck) Gum, Shirley Paugh, Darrell Gum, Judy Gum and Donnie Gum. She married Joe on June 26, 1959, and later moved to Buckhannon Run then to Hodgesville. She worked for many years at Louise Glass Factory, Princess House and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Louise loved her flowers, gardening, canning, going to the Farmer’s Market, painting ceramics for craft shows and taking bus trips with Joe. She was a member of Sand Run Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Davis Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care. A very special thank you to Nella’s Nursing Home for their loving care. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, WV.
