Obituary of Sharon Sue Grubb
Sharon Sue Grubb, age 76, of Ellamore, WV, died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. She was born December 3, 1947, in Randolph County, WV a daughter of the late Ben and Nancy Tenney Brady. On February 17, 1967, she married Larry Lee Grubb who preceded her in death on April 16, 2018. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Grubb; one sister, Cleona Bennett; one brother, Walter Brady; infant brother, Robert Brady and one grandson, Chandler Grubb. She is survived by one daughter, Kelly White and husband Donald of Weston, WV; one son, Michael Shawn Grubb and wife Jennifer of Buckhannon; special grandson who assisted in her care and loved like a son, Jonathan Grubb and companion Harlie Stout of Jane Lew, WV, grandson, Shawn Grubb, II and wife Kaley and Aaron Grubb and companion Brooklyn Bryant all of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Morganne Grubb of Weston and Brittany Grubb of Buckhannon; five great-grandsons, Kyler Grubb of Buckhannon, Jaxen Grubb of Ellamore, Kamden Grubb of Buckhannon, Tristen Watson of Jane Lew, WV and Jamison Breeden of Weston; one great granddaughter, Addison Grubb of Buckhannon; six siblings, Jane Hartley of Weston, Everett Brady and wife Connie of Buckhannon, Jerry Brady and Shelia Loudin both of Buckhannon, Larry Brady and wife Missy of French Creek, WV and Kris Rohr and husband Bill of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews; friends, Margaret Welcher of St. Augustine, FL, Deb Keplinger, Marietta Phillips and Nancy Taylor Grubb all of Buckhannon; a special family friend, Cemantha Woody of Buckhannon and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Parks of Buckhannon. Mrs. Grubb was a very strong and strong-willed woman, which showed in her work as the owner and operator of Buckhannon Reclamation and Farm Supply (formerly the Old Mill) as well as in her role of wife, mother, and grandmother. In her spare time, she loved watching soap operas, game shows, and westerns as well as driving her convertible, going to the beach, and checking out live music. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Harlie Stout, WVU Hospice, long term care at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Tisa McVay for their care in the final months of Sue’s life. Friends will be received Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels and Rev. David Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
