Obituary of Ronald Ted Malcolm
Ronald Ted Malcolm, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, November 10, 2023, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born April 3, 1942, in Barbour County, WV, a son of the late Alonzo Lee and Willie Madge Whetzel Malcolm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randall Malcolm; granddaughter, Chelsea Gum; three sisters, six brothers, and his friend, Richard Reger. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Ilene Lantz Malcolm; four daughters, Pamela Honeycutt and husband Mark of Charlotte, NC, Lisa Porter and husband Steve of Atlanta, GA, Melinda Kelley and husband Bobby of Sago, WV and Linda Gum and husband John of Fort Worth, TX; six grandsons, Zackery Malcolm of WV, Andrew Malcolm of WV, Ted Honeycutt and wife Lacey of SC, Christopher Honeycutt and wife Lauren of SC, Nick Porter of OH, and Christopher Eddy of SC; three granddaughters, Jodi Malcolm of WV, Alisa Honeycutt-Kumar and husband Saurabh of SC and Ashley Porter of OH; two great-granddaughters, Bailey Smith of OH and Kaia Gum of TX; six great-grandsons, Logan Shope of SC, Lloyd Shope of SC, Kayden Kumar of SC, Grayson Honeycutt of SC, Garrett Honeycutt of SC, and Ryker Honeycutt of SC; one great-grandson on the way, Landyn Honeycutt of SC and two sisters. Mr. Malcolm was a Heavy Equipment Operator and a Christian by faith. He was a talented woodworker who made everything from chairs to toy cars. He especially loved making his grandchildren bunnies for Easter and sleds for Christmas. Ronald was also an avid fisherman, who even invented a device to thread a fishhook. His CB radio handle was “Car Trader” and he enjoyed going to the dirt track races in Elkins. Above all, Ronald loved spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Talbott Cemetery in Talbott, WV.
