Obituary of Delane Riffle

Delane Carpenter Riffle, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, WV. She was born July 28, 1942, in Hemlock, WV, a daughter of the late Kessler and Annie Carpenter. She married Bill Riffle, who precede her in death. Surviving are, three sisters, Sharon Carpenter of Buckhannon, Grace Dennison of Hemlock and Elizabeth Mucciarone of Texas; four brothers, Dorsey Carpenter of Tallmansville, Larry (Christine) Carpenter of Tallmansville, Trevor (Brenda) Carpenter of Queens, WV and Eddie (Betty) Carpenter of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Denley, Benford and Olen Carpenter; two sister, Regina and Terry Carpenter and three sisters-in-law, Shelbia Jean Carpenter, Jean Carpenter and Wanda Carpenter. Friends will be received Monday, November 13, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hemlock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Olive Cemetery Association c/o Mary Tenney, Secretary/Treasurer, 67 High School Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201.
