Obituary of Della June Hoover

Della June Hoover, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV, surrounded by her family. She was born April 30, 1938, in Upshur County, a daughter of Creed and Clara Beulah Kelley Shipman. On December 24, 1954, she married John Noah Hoover who preceded  her in death on March 7, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Millie Reed; son-in-law, Billy Ray Reed; two half-brothers and one-half sister. Mrs. Hoover is survived by two sons, Johnny Wayne Hoover and wife Natalie of Vance, AL and Jerry Lee Hoover and wife, Jeanan of Buckhannon; one daughter, Barbara June Reed and companion David Wright of Buckhannon;  three grandsons, Thaddeus John Reed and wife Crystal, Travis Ellsworth Reed and wife Heather and Cole Isaac Hoover; three granddaughters, Sherri Minich and husband Jim, Della Alberta Stephenson and husband Billy, and Jordan Ashlee Hoover; four great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; one sister, Carol Honeycutt and four nephews. Mrs. Hoover loved serving the Lord. She also enjoyed camping, spending time with her family and loved playing music and singing. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Big Bend Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM with the  Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery in Sago, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Bend Cemetery Association. PO Box 928, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
