Our families spent a lot of time together. We traveled and visited lots of interesting places. The best part was the conversations going on. Glen and Slim in the front. Me and Mazie in the back. She had the most wonderful giggle.
I will miss her so much.

Mazie was a very sweet and kind lady. My thoughts and prayers go out to Cindy, Becky and all of the family. I am glad that Mazie was able to go on a special trip earlier this year with Cindy and her family. May those memories and so many more be forever cherished. RIP Mazie. You will be missed.

Thinking of the last time Mazie & Slim came to my house. Mazie & I sat up for hours talking long after all had gone to bed. Miss you friend. On the lighter side, I have a rocking chair that everyone loves to sit in. Slim sat down too hard, and would have flipped over, if not for hitting the wall first. Those were the good old days.

May the Lord grant rest to the soul of Mazie whose life was a wonderful testament of virtue; her love, kindness and generosity touched many. Her faith never wavered, radiating optimism and courage. The gentle soul wrapped in selflessness made everything interesting. Always spirited and friendly, she brought laughter into our lives. Singular moments with her, be it looking at Christmas lights or visits to the museum or Gandy theater, will always be cherished deep within our hearts.

Mazie and I were first cousins (my mom, Edna was her mom’s baby sister.) Mazie was four years my senior and lived in WV; and I lived in PA. We only saw each other every couple years when we visited Buckhannon and a few times as teens or adults at family reunions. Unfortunately it was not enough to really get to know one another. I regret that. I loved her.
The last time we saw one another was last October at a family picnic in Buckhannon. At the time I didn’t know she was ill, but I’m so glad I got to see her one last time. She was a sweet lady who will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
I’ve only recently ‘met’ Becky on FB and hope to meet her in person someday.
Photos below: Mazie is shown on the far right of the first photo. I’m on the far right in the second. Another of our cousins, Dairel’s daughter Anita on the far left of the second photo also died recently.)
May we all love our families and loved ones while they’re still with us! Life’s too short to bicker or hold grudges. 1 John 4:11 says, “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

Aunt Mazie,
Your were always so sweet and kind to everyone. I always enjoyed seeing you and visiting when I was young. I am forever thankful for the time I was able to spend with you and many other family members at Grandma Bailey’s house through several holidays but what I remember most is as an adult and getting to cook and talk with you at the time that Grandma was preparing to meet Jesus. It is a sad time for us who are still here but I know that you are rejoicing with Grandma now. Love and miss you!
