Hoy was married to my first cousin and that made him my cousin in my book. I remember so many times he made an impression on my life. We went to church together and I remember when Gina was born.
He always had every new tech invention before most of us knew about them. He had a movie camera at some family function. That was the reason my husband had to have one also. He was always there with a smile and a kind word. I loved Hoy so much. And will miss him. I also worked for the Post Office and would see him sometimes at work.

Uncle Junior and Gina have been a great part of my life since childhood. We shared so many adventures. One year, I rode behind Uncle Junior on his 350 motorcycle on the back roads and different places in Upshur County. It was a great adventure. We made several trips to Texas and back to WV. I visited Texas when Uncle Junior was 90 years old. He shared many sites with me, driving to Fort Worth, the tower where all of Dallas could be seen, the aquarium in Dallas, and driving to Austin, TX to visit a Holly Grove friend and neighbor. One year, Dale and I flew to Las Vegas, Nevada to meet Uncle Junior and Gina there. We toured the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. We shared so many adventures over the years. Whether on a great adventure or sitting and visiting with him on his front porch, he was always a great man and Uncle with much knowledge and what a great memory he had! I can't begin to put into words, how special he was!

Gina and family.
There’s little we can say or do right now - please know that our hearts and thoughts are with you in your time of sorrow.
We will cherish the memory of listening to him and sharing stories while we were camping at Lona’s over the years.

Gina and family we are so sorry for the loss of Uncle Junior. He was definitely one of the best men left. I have so many fond memories that I wouldn't even know what was the best memory. He always had time for me no matter what he was doing. Even when I was young and pestered him to go riding. I loved our rides from the time I got my first motorcycle to riding together on our side by sides. Levi looked so forward to seeing him every summer (as did we) so he could ride up and see him. This is a picture that Levi took at the reunion last year. We all know this was one of Uncle Junior's favorite things. He loved being withfamily. May Good wrap his arms around all of you for peace and comfort. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Junior was the best uncle ever! He always made his family priority to share his love and knowledge and never missed coming to the Raikes Reunion every summer. Love and miss you.

Between my junior and senior year in High School, I rode back to Texas with Uncle Jr and Aunt Audrey. I hadn't been driving long and I remember when we got to Kentucky, he asked me if I wanted to drive as he was tired and wanted a nap. I have never forgotten that he trusted me enough to nap while he let me drive through a state I was unfamiliar with! That's one of many great memories. He truly was a special human being and I feel so blessed he was a part of my life.
