Obituary of Jon Patrick O'Keefe

Jon Patrick O’Keefe, age 51, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, August 18, 2023, at his home. He was born August 18, 1972, in Marion, IL, a son of Steven Jon O’Keefe and wife Sunnie of Seminole, FL and Debra Lucille Sullivan King and husband Russell of West Frankfort, IL. On November 30, 1998, he married Melissa “Missy” Howard O’Keefe who survives. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by two daughters, Layken Downey of IN and Skylar O’Keefe of Buckhannon; one son, Joshua O’Keefe of Buckhannon; four grandchildren; two sisters, Jennifer Ryan O’Keefe of Buckhannon and Ashley King of IL; three brothers, Donnie Nourie of FL, Robbie Nourie of IL and Jeremy Nourie of OH and several nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his step mother, Dianna O’Keefe and a nephew, Layton Bailey. Jon attended the New Life Tabernacle of Buckhannon. He was a six-time gold medalist at the Ozark Association Age Group Junior Olympic Swimming Championships. He helped his wife build her business, The Hair Gal, and is also the Co-Owner. A memorial service will be held 6 PM Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the New Life Tabernacle with Pastor Jeffrey Cochran officiating. In honoring Jon’s wishes he will be cremated.
