Jenny and I first met in Elementary school. We both shared a love of athletics. We played rec council basketball and high school softball together. She was an incredible athlete. If I remember correctly, she even won a punt, pass, and kick contest in football even though girls weren't allowed to play. As a young girl she took dance class, was in Brownies, and played the piano. We would often spend the night over each other's house and we would tape record ourselves singing Helen Reddy and Olivia Newton John songs. Anyone who has heard Jenny sing appreciates her melodious voice and musical talents. My singing...not so much. In recent years Jenny told me that she still had the tape recordings and joked that she would go public with my less than stellar singing. We shared many laughs over the years but mostly we shared our love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know she has touched so many lives with her Faith and Love. She is, and will continue to be missed. I imagine her in heaven making the angelic choir. Save me a seat Jenny, I promise to just lip sync.
