Obituary of Richard Leslie Sutphin

Richard Leslie Sutphin, age 60, of French Creek, WV, died Monday, June 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 24, 1963, in Fairfax, VA, a son of Robert Sutphin of Annapolis, MD and the late Pauline Breeding Sutphin. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert “Robbie” Sutphin. In addition to his father, he is survived by one daughter, Clarissa Umble and husband Joseph of French Creek; one son, Richard L. Sutphin, Jr. and girlfriend, Stephanie Vines of Buckhannon; five grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Sutphin of Annapolis; two sisters, Debra Dunton and husband Mark of Rosedale, MD and Dylinna Sutphin of Annapolis and several nieces and nephews. In honoring Mr. Sutphin’s wishes he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
