Mabel Frances Riffle

Mabel Frances Riffle, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Stonerise Nursing Home in Bridgeport, WV. She was born April 1, 1935, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Oren and Ila Cornwell Fox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Riffle; two brothers, Ralph and George Fox and her sister, Ruth Lewis. She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Bender and Millie Claypool both of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Sharron Lyons of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Michael, Russell, Charles and Matthew Claypool all of Buckhannon; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Riffle was a Baptist by faith and a homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress. In honoring Mrs. Riffle’s wishes, she will be cremated. A private burial will take place at a later date.
