Hope Cemetery Charles Edward “Charlie” Simmons, Jr. Charles Edward “Charlie” Simmons, Jr., age 54, of Philippi, WV died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at his home. He was born August 20, 1954 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Charles Edmiston and Jessie Mae Prince Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gweth Smith, Clara Hyre and Lyndall Shreves and one half brother, Steve Fidler. He is survived by one son, Charles Edward Simmons, III and wife Beatrice Marie of Buckhannon; one sister, Ola Mae Parsons and husband Lindsey of Lanexa, VA; a half brother, Jim Fidler of Buckhannon; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces and three great-nephews. Charlie worked as a laborer and was a Christian by faith. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 11 AM to 1 PM the funeral hour with the Rev. Roger Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt.
