Obituary of Loretta Shockey

Loretta (Fuller) Shockey, age 87, of Buckhannon, WV, met Jesus on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was born a New Year’s baby, January 1, 1936, in Webster Spring, WV, a daughter of the late Ronald and Oleta Fuller. On May 28, 1955, she married her “Happily Ever After”, the late Donald M. Shockey. Preceding her in death is one daughter, Carrie L. Shockey. Surviving are two daughters, Tammie J. Shockey of Cape Coral, FL and Tonnya K. and husband Ed Lowther of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Brandi Shea and husband Joe of Buckhannon and Shalayna Jade of Martinsburg, WV; three great-grandchildren, Jade Nichole, Maxum Jeffrey and Porter Knox; one brother, Archie “Sonny” Fuller and wife Carrie Ellen of Smithfield, OH; niece, Kimberly Fuller of OH; nephew, Ronald “Ronnie” Fuller of OH; two special friends, Bonnie Grunberg and Marissa Leslie. Loretta raised her children to be loving and caring individuals and to never judge others for their differences. This was so clear in her relationship with her firstborn Carrie. Loretta was employed with the Upshur County Board of Education from 1972-1996 as a Tennerton Elementary, Kindergarden Teacher’s Aide. She was a member of South Buckhannon Mission Church and Business Professional Women. She enjoyed gardening, camping and spending quality time and precious moments with her grandkids. Friends will be received Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the South Buckhannon Mission Church. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday at the church with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. A burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV.
