Q: How did you meet Marilyn?
A: Mrs. Lawson Clarke was my teacher & I always appreciated her. She never forgot me. Always called me Frances, my first name on her roll call.
She gave us a good education & will be remembered for that.

Marilyn's clarity and delivery of thought tempered with her sense of humor are just a few of the many gifts left to us. The world was a better place because of her. She inspired and influenced thousands in her amazing and full life. Imagine being her daughters and grandchildren! You are blessed.

She was the best grandmother a girl could ask for. The memories of running around the house with Luke the dog as a little girl, watching game shows on the couch, and eating Grandmas cooking are memories I will cherish forever. We will miss you forever Grandma. Love, E

Anita, Gracie, and family:
I was saddened to learn of Marilyn's passing but what a long, wonderful life she lived! You are truly blessed to have had such a long, close relationship with her. I always admired her for her class, dignity, humor, and for her loyalty and dedication to her friends and family. She was truly one of a kind.
Our families have known each other seemingly forever and I am extremely grateful for that. I am especially thankful for the close friendship and unshakeable bond your mother and mine had for longer than we all are old which was more like a sisterhood. Those two stood by each other through thick and thin, good times and bad.
That's what great friends do.
And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Marilyn was one of the best teachers I ever had! She had the patience of Job which was required for putting up with my never-ending, juvenile shenanigans. Somehow she survived unscathed.
Lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't offer a simple "Thank you!" to you, Anita, for reaching out to me during my first couple of years of college, inviting me into your home and, well - just being there for me. That was special and I'll never forget that.
That's what great friends do.
We are all better off for having had Marilyn in our lives and now she can reap her reward.
God bless you all!
Pat McCoy

Marilyn opened up worlds in the advanced studies class she taught, but most importantly, she taught us how those worlds are connected. She was an exceptional teacher, who cultivated a love a learning and the joy of discovery in her students. I will always be grateful.
