Gene was a really great friend. I remember all the late Friday and Saturday nights dirt track racing. We had a lot of fun, all of us together. Those are times I will always cherish. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lora, John, and Lynn, and all of the Currence family.

Gene was a dear friend and fellow Deacon at Faith Baptist Church. He was one of the most God loving men I ever met. As one of the founding members of Faith Baptist Church, Gene was always faithful to God and his church. I helped Lora many times to get Gene into his wheelchair; all the while thinking what effort he put forth to be in God's house while many with no problems at all find it inconvenient to go to church. Gene always had an encouraging word to lift your spirits. He was truly a man of God and I will miss him dearly; but I praise God knowing that Gene now has new legs and is walking - or running - on those streets of gold in Heaven.
I will see you again my friend.
Our family serving yours.
