Obituary of Mary Perkins

Mary Perkins, age 94, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, October 31, 2022, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born January 6, 1928, in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mae Collins Cassell. On April 9, 1949, she married Guy Foley Perkins who preceded her in death on June 21, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, William Perkins. She is survived by five daughters, Marie Chestnut and husband Bernard of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Jacqueline Wamsley and husband Michael of Buckhannon, Jean Smallridge and husband Nolan of Ten Mile, WV, Edith Given and husband Johnny of Buckhannon and Patricia Zickefoose of Buckhannon; two sons, Guy Perkins, Jr. and wife Wanda of Sanford, FL and Virgil Perkins and wife Susan of Ivy, WV; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Shelly McLaughlin of Cass, WV and one brother, Chester Cassell and wife Ann of NC. Mrs. Perkins was a Christian and a homemaker. Friends will be received Friday, November 4, 2022, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV.
