Russell John “R.J.” Rowan, II, age 22, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at his home. He was born November 4, 1999, in Buckhannon, a son of Russell John Rowan of Buckhannon and the late Christina Marie Lee Rowan. In addition to his father, he is survived by his step-mother, Ashley Rowan of Buckhannon; two sisters, Cassandra “Casey” Rowan of Buckhannon and Meredith Rowan of Morgantown, WV; one brother, Ryan Rowan of Buckhannon; two nieces, Paisley Poling and Addison Rowan both of Buckhannon; paternal grandfather, Robert Rowan of Buckhannon; maternal grandfather, Randy Lee of Buckhannon; maternal grandmother, Susie Lee of Buckhannon; four uncles, Bob Rowan and companion Jodi of Buckhannon, Daniel Alderman of Huttonsville, WV, Matthew Alderman of Buckhannon and Andrew Lee of Weston, WV; one aunt, Jamie Lee of Buckhannon; close friends, Evan Dean, Stacey and Tonya Smith all of Buckhannon and several cousins and other family members. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Pamela Rowan. R.J. attended the Horizons Church. In his younger years he was in Cub Scouts and loved playing baseball and football. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gaming. Friends will be received Monday, October 31, 2022, from 1 PM until 2:30 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:30 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Church Cemetery in Queens, WV.
