Obituary of Phyllis Meeks Wilfong

Phyllis Meeks Wilfong, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Stonerise Nursing Home in Clarksburg, WV. She was born July 27, 1933, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Forman and Nora Kittle Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Eugene Meeks; second husband, Gerald Ellis Wilfong; eight siblings, Ray Reed, Corbin Reed, Evelyn Miller, Charles Reed, Freeman Reed, Willard “Doggie” Reed, Jerry Reed and Marion Boothe. She is survived by two sons, Rick Meeks and wife Debby of Buckhannon and Ken Meeks and wife Stephanie of Columbus, OH; two grandsons, Russ Meeks and wife Coralee of Buckhannon and Chris Meeks of Morgantown, WV; two granddaughters, Rebecca Argento and husband Jack and Margaret Meeks all of Columbus; three great grandsons, Gavin, Carter and Sawyer Meeks all of Buckhannon; two sisters, Naomi “Beanie” Criss of Buckhannon and Rose Hughes of Parkersburg, WV and a special brother-in-law, Tom Boothe of Buckhannon. Mrs. Wilfong loved reading and was a literacy volunteer. She enjoyed painting, crafts, and spending time with family especially the grandkids. In her younger years she was a champion bowler. Friends will be received Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Justin Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
