Obituary of Ina Friend

Ina Friend, age 85, of French Creek, WV, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born March 17, 1937, in Kanawha Head, WV, a daughter of the late Frank A. and Esta R. Riley Riffle. On December 26, 1957, she married Calvin Friend who preceded her in death in 2015. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Friend; seven brothers, Robert, Rev. Marvin, Arnold, Arthur, Burl, William and Ronald “Tom” Riffle and two sisters, Teresa Bennett and Bertha Baker. She is survived by three sons, Frank A. Friend and wife Deb of Norwalk, OH, John L. Friend of Tabor City, NC and Kirk W. Friend of Wakeman, OH; two granddaughters, Lauren Friend of Lorain, OH and Megan Friend of Colliers, WV; three grandsons, Michael Friend and wife Cindy of Fulda, Germany, Kenneth Friend of Wakeman and Patrick Friend and wife Demi of New London, OH; four great-grandsons, Torbyn Jay Friend of Wakeman, Noah Friend of TX, John Martin of Lorain and Wilson Daniel Friend of New London; four special sisters-in-law, Eva Friend and husband Daniel and Jessie Friend all of Rock Cave, WV and Betty and Carol Friend; one brother-in-law, Ruben E. Friend of Rock Cave and special nephew, Charles Reed (Chuck) of French Creek, WV.  Mrs. Friend was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and reading books. Friends will be received Friday, July 1, 2022, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Kanawha Head, WV.
