Dorothy Viola Trainer, age 99, of Buckhannon, WV, departed to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital NCF in Buckhannon, WV. She was born May 1, 1923, to the late Lawrence Otho and Hallie Gabert Chesnut at the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in Meadow Creek, WV. On June 14, 1941, she married Fred W. Trainer, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 14, 1973. In addition to her parents and husband, she is reunited in heaven with her grandson, Edward E. Warner, Jr., son-in-law, Fenton Taylor, and three brothers, Leonard, Lloyd and Raymond Chesnut and many, many friends. Mrs. Trainer is survived by the “twinkles” in her eyes, her five children, Joyce D. Warner & husband Edward of Buckhannon, WV, Jeannie Taylor of Pomeroy, OH, Fred W. Trainer, Jr. & wife June of Buckhannon, WV, D. Susan Phillips & husband Brent of Morgantown, WV and Sharon Sencindiver & husband John of French Creek, WV; fourteen beloved grandchildren, Gregory W. Taylor & wife Patty of Cartersville, GA, Ann L. Bush & husband Douglas of Buckhannon, WV, Stephen M. Warner & wife Terry of Buckhannon, WV, Jody L. Howard & husband Wess of Pomeroy, OH, Jennifer L. Bartrum & husband Michael of Pomeroy, OH, Jeremy McGill & wife Elaine of Buckhannon, WV, Brandi L. Phillips & husband Tariq of St. Petersburg, FL, Brooke P. Quinlan & husband Aaron of Scottsdale, AZ, Cody B. Phillips & wife Courtney of Pittsburgh, PA, Fred W. Trainer III & wife Leslie of Buckhannon, WV, Ashley Burch & husband Justin of Buckhannon, WV, Ian A. Sabo & wife Alex of Atlanta, GA and Alexis C. Sabo of Asheville, NC;  3 step-grandchildren Susan M. Shelton & husband Craig of Flemington, WV, Amy Rhodes & husband Matt, of St. Albans, WV and Matthew Sencindiver & wife Jacie of Fairmont, WV; 26 cherished great-grandchildren with one more on the way & 8 step-great-grandchildren; 6 doting great-great grandchildren & 1 step-great-great grandchild; two sisters, Olena Kersey of Hurricane, WV and Gladys Wade of North Olmsted, OH, and special niece, Nancy Evans Mosley of Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Trainer attended May Chapel and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She loved country music, gardening, sewing, crafting Christmas tree decorations, working crossword puzzles and was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Marlinton, WV—but mostly, she loved her family and her family dearly loved her. Mrs. Trainer took great care and detail in everything that she did in her life. Her detailed care is reflected in each one of her children and many grandchildren. She was known for her incredible sense of humor and beautiful honesty that will forever be treasured by those who had the pleasure of knowing this remarkable woman. Friends will be received Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 2PM to 5PM, and on Monday, May 30 with visitation at 9AM followed by 10AM service at the Poling-St Clair Funeral Home with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow at 3PM in the May Chapel Church Cemetery in Neola, WV.
