Obituary of Shirley Lee Black

Shirley Lee Black, age 80, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon. She was born July 15, 1941, in Buckhannon a daughter of the late Everett Daft and Nellie May Reed Ware. On December 15, 1979, she married Russell Black who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James Ware and Tim Reed and wife Sandy of Aylett, VA; one daughter, Donna Hamner and husband Terry of Sago, WV; two step-sons, Rusty Black and wife Ann of Hudson, FL and Robbie Black and wife Samantha of Cordele, GA; seven grandchildren, Kristy, Derreck, Casey and Sarah all of Buckhannon, Janelle of TX and Kyle and Kory of VA; nine step-grandchildren, Marissa, George, Shane, Rachel, Makela, Tyler, Stephanie, Brook and Melissa; 10 great-grandchildren and 19 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchild, Austin. Mrs. Black was a homemaker and loved traveling, seeing the countryside, fishing, crocheting and sewing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received, Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV.
