Obituary of Gary Lynn Hollen

Gary Lynn Hollen, age 75, of Tallmansville, WV, died Sunday, April 3, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. He was born March 5, 1947, in Tennerton, WV, a son of the late John Veir and Theda Tinder Hollen. He is survived by his son, Travis Hollen of Tallmansville; three grandsons, Cory Lee Hollen, Charles Cole Hollen of Salem, WV and Mitchell Hollen of Wilmington, SC; one sister, Donnis Roach of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Robert Hollen and wife Wenda of Richmond and William Hollen of Clarksburg, WV; several nieces and nephews and the mother of his children, Lois Dobbins of Clarksburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Hollen II; four sisters, Joan Caputo, Maxine Lehosit, Sandra Reid and Roberta Grass and two brothers, James and John Hollen. Mr. Hollen served in the U. S. Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for the VA Hospital in Clarksburg as a housekeeper and loved to travel. Friends will be received Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery in Ten Mile, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside.
