With extreme sadness we announce the unexpected passing of the loving Pamela Cheri Johnston, age 55, of Buckhannon, WV on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Pam was an amazing daughter, a dedicated sister, and an entertaining aunt. Pam was born in Buckhannon, WV on July 25, 1966, and was married to William Gregory Johnston on July 28, 1984. Pam was a Christian by faith. She was a member at the Tallmansville Baptist Church. Her faith in God provided peace throughout her life and the ability to cope with her illnesses. Her favorite Christian music group was Casting Crowns and she found comfort in their songs. She served her community and worked at many local companies, but known for the years at SW Jack, First Community Bank, and Gear Up. Pam loved to help others and with Gear Up she was able to encourage and help local teens to reach their goals in their education. Pam spent a few years in Florida working at Kennedy Space Center and made many friends in that area. Pam was best known for helping her late father, Tex Edward Walton, in his gun shops over the years and going to gun shows to assist him. Pam loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, and going to Canaan Valley to see the scenery with her family. Over the last few years, she enjoyed traveling to Florida to spend time at the beach with her son and his family. Pam was a positive person with a huge heart. She supported her family in all their journeys. Pam is survived by her mother, Mary Marie (and Delmas) Marks of Buckhannon, WV, her husband, William Gregory Johnston of Buckhannon, WV, her son, Brandon William (and Jenny) Johnston, of Mims, FL, and her sister, Sheila Marie (and Roger) Perry of Buckhannon, WV. She is survived by one granddaughter, Ava Johnston, of Mims, FL and one niece, NinaMae Coberly, of Buckhannon, WV. Pam is also survived by loving in-laws, Robert and Gae Johnston and their children and grandchildren. Pam is additionally survived by her stepmother, Hazel Ratliff Walton, and her family. She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Frank and Nina Keene, Justice and Louise Walton, and LeRoy and Mary Cassort. Pam’s immediate family is finding some peace knowing that she is Heaven holding her twins that were lost during pregnancy. Pam is also leaving behind her adored yorkie, Silas. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 11AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. The family requests the masks be required. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
