Obituary of Paul Junior Gifford

Paul Gifford, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday January 21, 2022, at his residence. He was born June 18, 1942, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Corbett and Edith Opal Corathers Gifford. Preceding him in death was one daughter Sheila Rhodes. Surviving are five children, Russell Gifford and wife Kimberly of Buckhannon, Timothy Gifford and partner Marilyn Westfall of Elkins, WV, Tammy Seelback and husband Brad of Buckhannon, Randall Gifford of Buckhannon, Karen Tenney and fiancé David Myers of Aurora, WV; ex-wife, Josephine Linger and husband Ronald of Buckhannon; one brother Ernest Gifford of Buckhannon; one sister Betty Linger and husband Junior of Buckhannon; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and daughter, he was also preceded in death by three brothers Percy, Sterling, and Edward Gifford. Mr. Gifford was the Meat and Produce Manager at Garden Fresh and was a member of the Sago Baptist Church in Sago, WV. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved golfing, fishing, and camping, but above all he loved being a grandfather to the grandchildren he so dearly adored. Friends will be received, Wednesday January 26, 2022, 12 PM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Elbon Cemetery in Sago. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
