James Freddie Jamison, age 74, of Roanoke, WV, died Friday, December 31, 2021, at his home. He was born January 22, 1947, in Gilmer County, WV, a son of the late Clay Spencer and Laura Mildred Lochart Jamison. On August 19, 1967, he married Anna Marie Rogers who preceded him in death on January 21, 2004. He is survived by one daughter, Laura Michelle Jamison of Horner, WV; one son, James Phillip Jamison and wife Michele of Roanoke, WV; five granddaughters, Laura Desria Detamore and husband Bub of Burnsville, WV, Ashley B. Murphy and husband Robert of Weston, WV, Katelyn Gortman and husband Kevin of KY, Brooklyn Watson of Roanoke, WV and Katerina Williams and partner Luis Mendoza of TX; three grandsons, Timothy Hammrick and Brent Debarr both of Weston and Sebastian Marple of Roanoke; 22 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Burl Jamison of TX and Earl Jamison of VA. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Keiffer. Mr. Jamison was a coal miner. In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated. Friends will be received for a memorial gathering Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 11 AM to 12 PM (noon) at the Oil Creek Methodist Church in Roanoke, WV. A memorial service will be held at 12 PM (noon) with Bob Mitchell officiating. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
