Perry Poddey, age 61, of Belington, WV, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County. He was born May 17, 1960, in CA, a son of the late Edgar Herbert Poddey and June Champion Waugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Justin Eric Poddey; one brother, Rick Poddey and one sister Yvonne Legg. Surviving are one son, David Tingler of GA; one daughter, Brittney Prince of Morgantown, WV; three brothers, Mike Poddey of Charleston, WV, Steven Thomas of Belington and Poncho Poddey Buckhannon, WV; two sisters, Julie Ball and husband Billy Mooresville, NC and Michelle Roberts of New Bern, NC and several nieces and nephews. Perry was a Coal Miner and Christian by faith. Friends will be received Monday, November 01, 2021, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 3 PM Monday in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon with Pastor Josh Layfield officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Perry’s memory to the Cherry River Foundation in support of the Dylan Brown Memorial Fund (https://www.thecherryriverfoundation.org/projects-to-fund).
