Wilbur “Pops” R. Snider, Jr.
Wilbur “Pops” R. Snider, Jr., age 72, of French Creek, Indian Camp Indian Camp, WV died Friday, June 15, 2007 at his home. He was born on May 18, 1935 at Rosemont, WV a son of the late Wilbur Ray Snider, Sr. and Edith “Ball” Snider. On June 18, 1955 he married Shirley Waddell who survives. Also surviving are two sons; Wilbur Ray Snider, III and wife Lois of Indian Camp, WV and James E. Snider and wife Monica of Indian Camp; four daughters, Loretta Whetzel and husband Robert of Keyser, WV, Deborah Warner and husband Bud of Buckhannon, WV, Barbara McCartney and husband Dwayne of Gould Road, WV, and Pamela Williams and husband Brian of Indian Camp; seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Brown of Buckhannon; one step brother, Terry Cain and wife Janice of Indian Camp; one step sister, Mary Bennett and husband Charlie of French Creek and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nellie (McCann) Snider; one grandson, Nicholas Warner and one sister, Linda Snider. Mr. Snider was a Methodist by faith and attended the Indian Camp United Methodist Church. He worked for Bethlehem Steele, Craig Auto Parts and DLM Coal Company. He loved his family, his farm and enjoyed working in the woods and on the sawmill. Friends will be received 4 – 9 PM, on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Mr. Snider will lie in state Wednesday from 1 - 2 PM, the funeral hour at the Indian Camp United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sue Lowther officiating.
