Obituary of Ralph Lee Kniceley

Ralph Lee Kniceley, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, September 16, 2021, at his home. He was born September 18, 1936, in Sutton, WV, a son of the late Roy and Martha Blankenship Kniceley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Bob and Olney Kniceley and six sisters, Pauline Mayes, Betty Williams, Elizabeth “Libby” Marsh, Mary Kniceley, Lillian Kniceley and Geraldine Bryant. He is survived by one son, Kevin Kniceley and wife Barb of Charleston, SC and bonus son, Mark Cunningham and wife Tracy of Buckhannon; two grandsons, BJ Thomas of Buckhannon and Grant Cunningham of Raleigh, NC; two granddaughters, Nikki Kniceley and fiancé Travis Williams of OH and Carson Cunningham of New York City, NY; great grandchildren, Devin Rankin, Danell Spivey, Adidason Spivey, Levi Thomas and Lexi Thomas; one brother, Charlie Kniceley of Jane Lew, WV; one sister, Mildred McCoy of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kniceley was a member of the Full Gospel Church. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Coal Miner and Homebuilder. Ralph loved to go deer hunting, spend time with his grandkids and watch football on Saturday and Sundays. The family would like to extend a special thank you to WV Hospice and his caregivers, Pam Wolford, Becky Hoover and Amy Matheny. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
