Obituary of Thomas Charles Cottrell

Thomas Charles Cottrell, age 80, of Buckhannon, WV (formerly of Teter Lake, WV and Enterprise, WV) went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his residence. He was born June 17, 1941, in Haywood, WV, the son of the late Orless and Marshaline (Frederick) Cottrell. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra (Sloan) Cottrell and his children, Denise (Cottrell) Wike and her husband, Paul of Bessimer City, NC, Donna Cottrell of Buckhannon and Butch Cottrell of Longmont, CO; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Mae. Tom was devoted to his one and only true love, Sandra, and celebrated their 61^st wedding anniversary in the spring of this year. He believed providing for his family was his most important duty. Tom proudly served in the United States Marine Corp before working 30 years at Robinson Run Coal Mines in Lumberport, WV. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles. He was a member of Haven of Hope Worship Center in Philippi, WV. He was also a member of the St. Johns Lodge #24 in Shinnston, WV. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
