Obituary of Charles Junior Tenney

Charles Junior Tenney, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday July 31, 2021 at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins, WV. He was born August 7, 1946, in Upshur County, a son of the late Wilbert Mason and Nora Mae Casto Tenney. He is survived by his second wife Mary Wilda Tenney of Buckhannon, WV; one son, Raymond Mason Tenney and wife Kelly of Buckhannon; daughter-in-law Cathy Tenney of Buckhannon; five granddaughters Ashley Tenney and companion Dustin Wamsley, Carol Tenney, Allison Tenney, Nakiesha Tenney, and Zaia Tenney all of Buckhannon; three grandsons Gilbert Tenney, Garrett Tenney and companion Beth Snyder, and Kaden Lattea all of Buckhannon; three great granddaughters Aurora Wamsley, Paisley Tenney, both of Buckhhanon, and Emily Bailey of Weston, WV; two great grandsons Brayden Tenney and Tristen Wamsley both of Buckhannon; three brothers Spurgeon Casto and wife Mabel, Robert Tenney and wife Linda all of Apple Creek, OH, and Thomas Tenney and wife Judith of King, NC; three sisters Virginia Howes and husband Franklin of French Creek, WV, Shirley Reger and husband Phillip and Cindy DeBarr and husband Charles all of Buckhannon; three step-sons Michael Mallow and wife Shelia of Laurel Mountain, WV, David Mallow and wife Anita of Marlinton, WV and Bryan and Stephen Mallow of Belington, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Carol Joy Tenney; son Charles Junior Tenney Jr.; and brother James Tenney. Charles was a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of Sand Run Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and go to Happy Landing Camp. Friends will be received Tuesday August 3, 2021, from 4pm-8pm at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday August 4, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
